The Nature Fund
The Nature Center's annual Nature Fund campaign is a year-round effort to raise funds necessary to support the daily operations of our organization, including the maintenance of our free trails and facility. All gifts to the Nature Fund are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
Endowment
Early supporters of the Nature Center had the foresight to create the Shaker Lakes Regional Nature Center Endowment Foundation to establish consistent funding and long-term security for the Nature Center. Donations to the Endowment Foundation are strategically invested by its Board, which allocates annually a percentage of the revenue from those investments to the Nature Center for daily operations, guaranteeing a source of income each year. Generally, bequests, memorial donations, and other designated gifts are placed in the Endowment Fund. Donations to the Endowment Foundation remain a living legacy, ensuring that the Nature Center will exist in perpetuity.
Planned Giving and
the Evergreen Society
Membership in the Nature Center’s Evergreen Society is open to anyone who invests in the future of the Nature Center through a planned gift. Individuals may designate gifts for a specific purpose or offer broad support through a gift to the Endowment Fund. The Evergreen Society recognizes those donors who are dedicated to preserving the Parklands of the Shaker Lakes for future generations.
There are many ways to make a planned gift; your lawyer or financial advisor can assist you in making informed decisions.
Tribute Gifts
A contribution to the Nature Center is a wonderful way to pay tribute to someone special or memorialize a loved one. The Nature Center has many opportunities to make a gift in honor or memory of someone in your life, including our popular and sustainable Tribute Tree program. Contact the Nature Center for more information on making a gift suitable to pay tribute to your loved one.
