Photo Club News - The Nature Photography Club has created a Yahoo Group. If you have not yet done so, go to our Group Page and sign up to receive all the club communications, including meeting announcements, news about special projects, and interesting information from, to, or about Club members. Log in to the Group page to access past emails, meeting presentation materials, links to helpful Websites, and member photo albums.
Iconic Trees of Shaker Heights - The Nature Photography Club and the City of Shaker Heights are collaborating to photograph "Iconic Trees." Nominations of photo-worthy trees are still being received from Shaker Heights residents. The photographs will be exhibited throughout 2010 at three or more venues, they will be featured in an issue of Shaker Life, and perhaps even a coffee table book. Please contact Lauren Pacini (
) to participate in this project.
Helpful Information - Taking the photograph is only step one. Just as cropping and white and color balance can make the difference between a snapshot and a work of digital art, proper mounting and framing can make your image stand out. For a wealth of information regarding framing your prints, go to Photography.com.
More Helpful Information - The Internet is a treasure trove of information. Engaging in online discussions can broaden your knowledge and allow you to share yours as well. Yahoo eGroups offer discussions on a wide range of topics. One such group offers discussions on Color Theory, while another focuses on Black and White Photography, and yet another on Digital Fine Art Photography. Members with other favorites should let us know so we can build a good list.
