OUTREACH PROGRAMS

Animal Classification (2-3 hours)
Students will use a dichotomous key to identify and classify native Ohio animal skins and skulls. Discussion of Linnaean classification system. Must have LCD capabilities.

Birds! (1 hour)
Learn about Ohio's native birds through bird calls, ID, and instruction on binoculars.
Optional owl pellet dissection available.

Reptiles and Amphibians (1 hour)
Students learn about the differences between reptiles and amphibians, including life cycles and general characteristics. Presented with a live animal ambassador!

Water Quality 1 hour
Students will use chemical testing to determine the quality of their school water and water from a local natural source.

We are also happy to customize a program to suit the needs of your class!
