PLANNED GIVING &
THE EVERGREEN SOCIETY

INVEST IN THE FUTURE OF THE NATURE CENTER

You can play an integral role in securing the future of the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes. Making a planned gift is one of the most impactful ways to invest in the Nature Center and to create a legacy of conservation and environmental education.

You may designate your gift for a specific purpose or offer broad support through a gift to the Endowment Fund–your generosity will help ensure that we can enhance and preserve this natural place of respite and learning for generations to come.

There are many ways to make a planned gift to the Nature Center, including bequests, charitable trusts, and gifts of appreciated securities. Your lawyer or financial advisor can assist you in making informed decisions.

By making a planned gift, you can play a vital role in nurturing the native habitats and outdoor adventures that will enrich lives now and into the future.

EVERGREEN SOCIETY MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: NANCY KING SMITH

"The Nature Center at Shaker Lakes was one of the first places I gravitated toward when we arrived in Shaker Heights with our two young daughters many years ago. The trails and native habitats were a perfect setting for me to volunteer and introduce my daughters to the importance of our environment. Little did I know that a decade later, I would have the opportunity and privilege to serve as its Executive Director for 10 years.

I have now been retired for nearly 15 years, but the Nature Center remains in my blood. Kemp and I are very pleased, not only to support the current capital campaign, but to also join the Evergreen Society with a planned gift during this crucial time for the organization. We are excited about current efforts to upgrade the outdoor classroom and the continuing commitment to provide outdoor environmental education to children of all ages. Our hope is that the Nature Center will continue to be a vibrant part of our community for generations to come and that our planned gift will have an impact in continuing that legacy."
