Meet Our New Board Members
Now into the 2019 Fiscal Year at the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes, we're pleased to introduce our newest elected members to our Board of Trustees.
Kate Blaszak: Kate has worked for the nonprofit speciality services team at Key Private Bank, off and on, since 1993. Active in her community, she volunteers with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospitals, Shaker Heights City Schools and Rescue Village. Her children have attended our summer camps and she has participated in the Nature Center's annual Flyways Not Highways Benefit and Hike, Run & Explore events for years.
Leigh Carter: Leigh is a Wealth Advisor in Glenmede's Ohio office, responsible for providing thoughtful wealth management solutions for individuals and organizations. He is active in Cleveland's charitable community, and serves as a Trustee and Investment Development Committee member for the Cleveland Museum of Art. Leigh's family has been involved with the Nature Center since its foundation, and over the years, he and his four children have enjoyed visiting the Nature Center.
Jeanne Gordon: Jeanne is a partner with Cavitch, Familo & Durkin, where she concentrates on business law. Jeanne has served as the President of the Communion of Saints School PTO since 2012 and previously served on the board of the Music Settlement House. Her children have attended our beloved summer camps, as well as other programs offered at the Nature Center, and Jeanne has participated in our annual Flyways Not Highways Benefit.
Carrie Shelfer: Carrie attended Vanderbilt University where she studied Human and Organizational Development and Art History and worked in nonprofit fundraising in Florida before relocating to Cleveland. Since, she's become active in her community, supporting many nonprofit causes. She's been involved with the Autism Speaks Chefs' Gala, our previous Pestival event and was most recently a co-chair to our annual Flyways Not Highways benefit.
