Trailside Science - KIDS ONLY!
A Nature Center Educator takes up to 9 kids on an adventure while the adults in your group relax in one of our covered, outdoor, spaces reserved for you for the hour. In this program, parents or guardians MUST remain on-site, but do not have to stay with the group.
$150 per group.
Trailside Science
These 1 hour private, nature-based programs are perfect for any small group of 9 or fewer. Adults are welcome to join in the fun and count towards the group size maximum of 9. Great for adding nature into your curriculum or for a guided day outside.
$90 per group.
We adapt each adventure to the age of your group and adjust the themes seasonally. Current Topics Include:
BUGS
Join a Nature Center educator to search our favorite insect, isopod, and arachnid hiding spots throughout the Nature Center's habitats. We will use scientific tools to extend our senses (magnifying lenses and collection tools) as we sneak a peek under rocks and roll over logs.
BIRDS
Take a closer look at some of the Nature Center’s bird specimens to learn some key characteristics of these beautiful feathered friends. Then, borrow binoculars as we lead you through our scenic trails to see live, wild birds outside in a diversity of habitats.
Safety Expectations:
Our building and restrooms remain closed to the public. Please plan ahead. Everyone, including children over the age of 2, must wear a face covering. We will maintain the 6ft physical distancing guidelines during the program.We will provide each individual their own set of supplies to borrow. Supplies will be sanitized after each program. Please dress for the weather - programs are rain or shine! (In extreme weather, programs may be rescheduled.)
